About us
Building a freer Kenya.
Sauti Ya Dada means "Voice of the Sister". We are a women-led, community-rooted organisation working at the intersection of safety, education and economic justice.
Our story
Founded in 2019 in Kitui Kenya by a small circle of community organisers and survivors, Sauti Ya Dada began as a Saturday support group meeting under a mango tree. Six years later, we run programs across 12 counties, with a paid team, a volunteer network and a board of women and men leaders from across the country.
We remain proudly grassroots. Every program we design starts with a community conversation, and every decision is shaped by the women we serve.
What we believe
- Women are the experts on their own lives.
- Safety is the foundation of every other freedom.
- Boys and men are allies, not afterthoughts.
- Local solutions, local leadership, always.
