Our Preamble.
Girls and women empowerment and education in poor, underprivileged and marginalized regions in Kenya have for decades been adversely affected by social, economic, political, and cultural factors which have created biases in the girls’ and women’s sexual and reproductive health and education. To improve the quality of life and enhance equity in sexual and reproductive health and education for girls and women, the vision bearers, seven likeminded, passionate individuals and eventually formed a community-based organization (CBO) with the vision of positively impacting the health of women and girl child through strategic activities geared towards increasing girls and women empowerment by creating awareness, building women’s capacity of sexual and reproductive health, removing the barriers to accessibility, affordability, and availability of sexual and reproductive health.
A team united for change.
Sauti Ya Dada Kenya ("Voice of the Sister") was founded in 2018 by community organisers in western Kenya. We work alongside women, girls and allies to dismantle barriers to safety, education and economic independence.
Today we run mentorship, survivor-centred safe spaces, micro-grants and youth allyship programs across multiple counties — always led by the women we serve.
